A peak at Christmas around our house. We decorated for Christmas over Thanksgiving weekend and most years I like to add a little something new to my collection. This year I wanted to spread the holiday cheer to a few more areas around our house so I added mini cedar wreaths with a long satin ribbon to all of the doors in our house. The wreaths I purchased are no longer sold, but these ones are similar. I hung them with clear push pins – a tiny command hook would have been better, but I just used what I had on hand.

Mini faux cedar wreaths with a long burgundy, satin ribbon are a great modern meets traditional Christmas touch.

Baking is something I love to do, but don’t make much time for anymore. Over Thanksgiving, I made two pies from two new recipes. This salted caramel pumpkin pie was a big hit and one that I will certainly be making every year now. Truly I am not even a pumpkin pie lover, but this pie has converted me. I may need to make it more than one a year at Thanksgiving. Tip: make a little extra salted caramel then the recipe calls for to drizzle over the pie.

I recently discovered Brianna Weist and her content really resonated with me.

“On day, the mountain that was in front of you will be so far behind you it will barely be visible in the distance. But the person you become in learning to get over it? That will stay with you forever – and that is the point of the mountain.”

Her book, The Mountain is You, is on my next read list.

Things that caught my eye this week:

I recently bought these boots and they have quickly become a favorite. They are pricey, but I know I will wear them nearly every day this winter and shoes are one item in my closet I’m willing to spend more on because I usually have them for years. So worth it to me.

Still in need of a few gifts? I didn’t put any gift guides together myself this year, but these are two of my favorites I’ve seen: The DIY Playbook & Yellow Brick Home

Our sofa has held up well, but our pillows do need to be fluffed regularly. Our Hideaway Home shared this smart idea to keep your cushions looking fluffed in a perfectly timed reel. Botox for your sofa.

This cabin living room reveal makes me want to go on a weekend trip to a cabin in the woods.

Have a wonderful weekend.
