I saw the idea an idea by Jaci Daily to give a pot you don’t love, but has a great shape a new life! It consists of black spray paint and rubbing damp dirt on it. I’m intrigued. Check out her Instagram highlight to see what she did to create the “found” look!

Grace wrote a post on how to create a style guide for your home. I loved her ideas. If you are struggling with finding your home’s style it’s a good read.

What is modern cottage style? Julia discussed this in a recent post and it got me thinking… the modern cottage style could fit our home so well and I feel like this is in the same vein of the style I have been trying to slowly infuse into our home, but it’s not quite spot on and that’s alright – I am slowly finding out exactly what I want our home to feel like. When I think of a cottage I think of a quaint, small home that feels oh so cozy. Like Julia said, you can get the cottage feel regardless of the size of your home. That is exactly what I want our home to be, cozy, with a mix of modern and traditional elements while honoring our home’s Tudor style. I think it’s so important to be aware of how you want your home to feel and the overall style you want. This is something I had been thinking of lately and between Grace’s and Julia’s posts it got my wheels turning. I want to define the style I am going after in our home as modern Tudor. To me, this means a focus on warms whites with accents of both moody and muted colors, natural materials, darker warm woods, traditional details with modern accents, fireplaces, a rug in every room, baskets with blankets and pillows to get extra cozy, and lots of books.

My favorite snow boots have been getting a lot of action on our morning and evening walks between all of the snow and ice we’ve had recently. My feet are always dry and always warm.
