DIY Room Spray - The Adored Abode

I have been slowly shifting the products we use in our home to more natural versions and if it’s something I can make myself that’s a bonus! Since it’s Earth Day I wanted to share one of my go to all-natural products I have been making.

We have been using this DIY room spray for about a year now and we love it! I can truly say it works!

It’s very easy to make and I usually have all the ingredients on hand to make it if I need to refill one of our bottles.

How to Make DIY Room Spray

These are the ingredients you will need:

  • Witch hazel (you can use rubbing alcohol as well)
  • Distilled water
  • Essential oils (I use bergamot, orange and lavender)
  • Glass spray bottle
  • Label maker (if you like to label things like I do!)

Add 15 drops of bergamot, 15 drops of orange and 10 drops of lavender to your spray bottle (this is what I use for an 8 oz bottle – vary this to your preference based on the size of your bottle). You can use any combination of essentials oils that you choose, the ones I listed are just my favorites! Fill the bottle 1/3 full with witch hazel and fill the remainder of the bottle with distilled water. The witch hazel (or rubbing alcohol) helps the oil and water combine. I find this ratio of witch hazel to distilled water works well with any size bottle. Shake well and shake before each use!

To make sure everyone knows what the bottle is for you can label it! I love my label maker that creates embossed fonts on my label – it’s super simple and easy to use. Love the personalized touch it adds!

This is a great replacement for Febreze and aerosol bathroom spray! I keep on a bottle on top of our toilet for that very reason. I also like to spray this around the house as needed and especially a few hours before guests come over to get rid of any lingering dog odors. It especially does a good job making the rugs and dog bed smell a little more fresh!
