We have been busy getting quotes for revamping our exterior! Today we had 5 trees cut down (it makes me sooo sad to cut down trees, but they were just too close to our house!) so changes are already in progress. We also plan to have the exterior of our house painted and have a new patio installed with some much-needed drainage systems – our poor back yard turns to a pond any time it rains or snows! This is our 3rd spring being in our house and it is about time we gave the exterior some love too.

I bought myself a new work tote and to say I love it is an understatement. It was definitely a splurge, but I plan to use this bag for many, many years to come. I also got the tote organizer to go with it because I hate when things get lost in tote bags. It’s been a game changer. It even has a dedicated water bottle pouch, so my bottle doesn’t tip over and leak in my bag anymore! It’s the little details that get me.

Did you see the new rug we got for the living room? I wrote a post about my first impressions of the rug here. I love the feel it gives to the room. It really ups the cozy factor in my opinion and that is so important to me. I want our home to be warm and inviting, yet classic with touches of modern. I feel like our living room is slowly getting there!

We have been making slow behind the scenes progress on our upstairs bathroom. We had a snafu with the plumbing because we thought we could just replace the hardware in the shower, but it turned out we had to replace the whole valve system in addition to the hardware. Nathan and his dad spent last weekend soldering pipes and got the pretty new valve and hardware pieces in place! Now we can finish up the backer board and get started on tile!

Speaking of the bathroom, I ordered a vanity that when it was delivered we determined wasn’t good quality. Plus, the countertop (that was ordered separately) did not fit with the vanity, despite the two being advertised together! I was back to square one spent many hours researching other vanities. I finally bit the bullet and ordered a new vanity (top included this time). Fingers crossed this one fits the bill!

Two weeks ago was the start of the spring One Room Challenge. We decided to sit this round out since we already had the upstairs bathroom project going on so I am just cheering on everyone else from the sidelines! Here are a few of my favorites so far:

Here’s to a lovely weekend!
