One Room Challenge Week 2: Painted Tile Progress

I can’t believe we are already a week in to the One Room Challenge. As I mentioned last week we will be completing our laundry room (which is also our pantry and what we call our “dog room”) for this 6 week challenge. You can catch up on week 1 here. Last weekend we spent time clearing everything out of the laundry room and giving the room, especially the floor, a deep clean as we got ready to paint and…

One Room Challenge – Week 1: The Befores

It’s that time of year again… I am back to do another One Room Challenge! For those who are unfamiliar, the One Room Challenge by Calling it Home is a twice-yearly event that challenges design bloggers to transform a room in 6 weeks. I am joining this fall edition of the One Room Challenge as a guest participant. While I am not one of the 20 featured design bloggers participating, I will be participating and accepting the challenge of transforming a room…

How to Live Through a Renovation (8 Tips to Remember)

Living through a renovation... is rough to say the least. We bought our current house almost a year and a half ago. I honestly naively thought we would be done renovating our by now. Or that we would at least have our main floor completely done, or the rainbow carpet ripped out from the upstairs. If you missed the rainbow carpet you can see it in our new house tour here. We are substantially done with the main floor, with the major exception…

Welcome to The Friday 5 for this week where I share interior design ideas,  home decor inspiration, DIY, and organization tips and tricks… and really anything else as it comes to mind! ONE Faux eucalyptus leaves are a great way to add some texture and natural elements to your decor. I have been searching for some that don't break the bank. The Friday 5 (v2)

Welcome to The Friday 5 for this week where I share interior design ideas,  home decor inspiration, DIY, and organization tips and tricks… and really anything else as it comes to mind! ONE This modern farmhouse living room by Sita Montgomery is amazing! The coffee table, those benches, and the rug... wish I could transport it all into my living room! Also, the fireplace is definite inspiration for our 20ft fireplace. Haha, maybe we will make a decision on whether we…

Top 12: Temporary Wallpaper

During the planning process for our laundry room design, if you missed the design plan check it out here, I searched high and low for all different patterns of temporary wallpaper for the focal wall we want to add to the laundry room. The general color scheme I was looking in clearly was whites, grays, blues, and greens. I came across so many different ones that I loved, which also are relatively affordable in the wallpaper world, so I wanted to…

Laundry Room Planning

With our kitchen 90% done we are already planning our next project… the laundry room, which happens to be right off the kitchen. When we moved into our house the laundry room was an empty room. The walls had painted over wallpaper, but other than that it was a blank slate. We just moved in the washer and dryer and put up some temporary shelving unit to act as a pantry. After our popcorn ceilings were scraped, skim coated, and…

One Room Challenge Week 4: Hall Bath

There's only two weeks left of the One Room Challenge, how can that be? It feels like we just started on in yesterday. We finished installing the plank walls and trim. We decided on stool moulding to cap off the top of the plank wall since we only went 3/4 up the wall. We looked at different ideas for how to cap of the plank walls with trim and what I was initially envisioning wasn't in stock at our local…
